We are sharing a series of posts telling you some of the most recommended dining spots in and around the city - we started with 5 of the best places for breakfast in Lincoln and next up is sharing 5 of the best places for lunch in Lincoln.


1. Rising Cafe

Rising Cafe is featured in our breakfast spots, and it's just as popular for lunch! We're so glad that it's doing so well as by eating at Rising Cafe, you're making a positive impact as the cafe is run by individuals who have experienced homelessness and addiction with every single penny of the proceeds directly supporting their own recovery journey. Their menu has something for everyone, ranging from small plates to burgers and sandwiches.


Opening times: They are open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am - 3.30pm and 10.30am - 4pm on Saturday.

Can you book? No - walk-ins only

2. Lincoln Bagel Co

Lincoln Bagel Co is a relatively recent addition to Lincoln city centre, opening in February 2023. They are a family-run business that (unsurprisingly) specialise in bagels, baked fresh in-house every day. They also serve coffee and a range of delicious milkshakes. They regularly offer lunch deals, such as buy one get one half price on Tuesdays and they also offer takeaway and delivery.


Opening times: Monday - Saturday 8am - 6pm

Can you book? No - walk-ins only

3. Stokes Cafes

If you're a Lincoln resident, you'll be well aware of Stokes Tea & Coffee as they started the business back in 1892 and have thrived ever since. They have two cafes that are ideal for lunch in the city - the historic High Bridge Cafe in the centre of town and The Lawn Cafe, and a recently opened cafe in Welton just outside of Lincoln. Their menus include everything you'd hope for when looking for lunch offerings, from sandwiches to salads.


Opening times: They are open 7 days a week - times can be found on their website.

Can you book? Walk-ins only, although afternoon tea can be booked

4. Seven Districts Coffee Houses

Whilst Seven Districts are known for their amazing coffee, they also do really great food. They have expanded quickly and now have two coffee houses which are ideal for lunch; their original cafe in Welton and their latest city centre addition which is in Eastgate Pavilion. They have a lovely range of menu items ranging from build a bagels to buddha bowls and wraps.


Opening times: They are open 7 days a week - times can be found on their website.

Can you book? Walk-ins but booking is available for larger groups

5. Doddington Hall

Doddington Hall is based a few miles from Lincoln centre but is so worth a visit. The cafe is located in their beautiful estate with an Elizabethan stately home, five-acres of gardens and an array of shops. Their cafe showcases quality seasonal produce from their estate and local suppliers. Lunch is ordered at the till and includes hearty options such as burgers and pasta and lighter options such as bagels, soup and flatbreads.


Opening times: Lunch is served from 12 - 3pm everyday.

Can you book? No, tables are available on a first come, first served basis
