
Are you looking for the best places for breakfast in Lincoln? Look no further. This is the first in a series of posts sharing the most recommended dining spots in and around the city. I asked for your top recommendations on Instagram and there were some names that came up repeatedly, so rest assured - this list includes places that are highly rated by the residents of Lincoln and are either in the centre or a few miles out (but well worth the trip)! So without further ado, let's get into it...
1. Doddington Hall Cafe
Doddington Hall is well worth a visit for many reasons - a beautiful estate with an Elizabethan stately home, five-acres of gardens and an array of shops and eating options. But this post is all about breakfast and Doddington Hall cafe does it so well, offering quality, seasonal produce from the estate and local suppliers. They have a small but fantastic menu covering all of the breakfast and brunch items you'd hope for, from a full english (a vegetarian and vegan option too) to american pancakes.
Opening times: Breakfast is served from 9 - 11am everyday.

2. Rising Café Lincoln
Situated within Alive Church, Rising Café is a very popular Lincoln spot and there are often queues to experience their delights. By dining at RC, you're not only enjoying a meal but also making a positive impact as the cafe is run by individuals who have experienced homelessness and addiction with every single penny of the proceeds directly supporting their own recovery journey. The breakfast menu is small but perfectly formed, and is served all day.

3. Bailgate Deli
Bailgate Deli is a vegan and vegetarian café and deli in Lincoln's historic Cathedral Quarter. They pride themselves on good coffee and tasty but nutritious food. Breakfast options include porridge, a full vegan and avo on toast. The cafe has rave reviews on TripAdvisor and is much-loved for its welcoming staff.

4. Amelia Alice Tearooms
You can find the Amelia Alice Tearoom nestled away in the Amelia Alice Interiors shop in North Hykeham, a few miles south of the city. A hidden gem for sure! They offer all of the breakfast items that you'd hope for along with more unique offerings such as a loaded breakfast wrap, a brunch stack and a mushroom eggs benedict.
Opening times: Breakfast is served from 9-11.15am. They are open every day except Tuesday.

5. Madame Waffle
As you can probably guess, Madame Waffle is all about waffles, making it a perfect spot for breakfast or brunch. They specialise in fresh Belgian waffles (but there is a standard full english available) and have a huge menu which includes savoury options such as a waffle topped with eggs and avocado to the usual sweet delights you'd expect - banana and nutella waffle anyone? They also have a great vegan and vegetarian menu.
